At Baking Buddies we offer relaxed and encouraging baking classes for children, where they can explore their creativity through baking.
We bake different sweet and savoury recipes of varying grades of difficulty, to make sure that both experienced bakers as well as novices will enjoy their time with Baking Buddies.
I have enjoyed a deep love for creating sweet treats as well as teaching and nurturing children from a young age growing up in Germany. My first passion for languages led me to Birmingham, where I met my now husband and later to London, where I finished my teaching degree and nurtured my interest in baking. Over many years I immersed myself in the world of baking, exploring and perfecting recipes from all over the world. This became even more important when I started my own family and wanting to offer my children treats that were nutritiously balanced.
My passion for both baking and nurturing young minds eventually led me to embark on an extraordinary journey. I had noticed that many children had little exposure to the joy of baking and the invaluable life skills it could impart. With a desire to share my passion and empower young ones with culinary knowledge, I decided to start a business dedicated to teaching children how to bake.
I am a trained Secondary school teacher, Certified to Level 2 for Food Hygiene and Preparation, DBS checked and have Public Liability Insurance.

To bring my vision to life, I spent countless hours researching recipes and simplifying their instruction to make them more child-friendly and honing my skills in the kitchen.
I drew inspiration from my early adulthood, recalling the moments spent with my husband, creating delicious meals, which had instilled in me a love for baking and sharing the food I created, that burned brighter every day.
Equipped with a solid plan and unwavering determination, I began by offering free baking classes in my children’s primary school. I created a safe and inviting environment where children could unleash their creativity and explore the wonders of baking. Each session was carefully designed to not only teach baking techniques but also foster a sense of teamwork, patience, self-expression and understanding of the country’s culture of which the recipe stemmed from.
Word quickly spread about my unique approach to teaching children how to bake. Parents and guardians recognised the value in giving their little ones the opportunity to develop skills that would last a lifetime. The demand for my classes grew, and with the support of my loyal students and their families, I was able to start my own After School Club classes. One afternoon each week the school’s dining room was transformed into a vibrant bakery classroom, complete with colorful utensils and an enticing, but challenging recipes. The aroma of freshly baked goods wafted through the air, drawing in curious passersby.
My business, “Baking Buddies,” started to flourish. I expanded the classes to offer Baking Holiday Camp classes and expanded my team by bringing volunteers who shared my passion for both baking and educating young minds. I carefully crafted a curriculum that catered to children of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that every budding baker could find their place in the Baking Buddies family.
After only one year of trading, my business, “Baking Buddies,” started to flourish. I expanded the classes to offer Baking Holiday Camp classes to children in the wider community and expanded my team by bringing in volunteers who shared my passion for both baking and educating young minds. I crafted a curriculum that catered to children of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that every budding baker could find their place in the Baking Buddies family.
My classes at Baking Buddies became much more than just baking lessons though. They have become a place where children can discover their creativity, build self-confidence, and develop a love for learning. In my classes I keep emphasising the importance of experimentation, problem-solving, and embracing mistakes as opportunities for growth. I love seeing the children’s faces light up with pride and joy as they present their creations, knowing they have achieved something truly special.
Now Baking Buddies is going from strength to strength, I would like my business to extended beyond the classroom. I am planning to start a Baking Buddies Academy, offering online courses and video content that can reach children and young adults all over the world, publish a series of children’s baking books, filled with easy-to-follow recipes and delightful illustrations as well as building a charitable organisation that inspires young minds of all backgrounds to don their aprons and embark on their own adventures.
I want Baking Buddies to become synonymous with spreading joy, not only through delectable treats but also through the invaluable lessons and memories shared within its baking family.
I feel that, today, Baking Buddies stands as a testament to my unwavering belief in the transformative power of baking. Countless children have learned to knead dough, measure ingredients, and create edible masterpieces under my guidance. The legacy of Baking Buddies lives on, inspiring young bakers to follow their dreams, explore their creativity, and savor the magic of the baker’s kitchen. I would like my journey to serve as a reminder that a single idea, fueled by passion and a desire to make a difference, can create ripples of joy that touch countless lives.
